Asperger’s Are Us is a comedy troupe based in Boston that features four individuals with autism that met 11 years ago at a summer camp. Their brand of humor could best be described as absurdist deadpan, and is really worth checking out for yourself: Asperger’s Are Us.

The group was recently the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary directed by Mark Duplass (HBO’s Togetherness) which debuted at South by Southwest in Austin earlier this year. Though the group resists the role of autism ambassador and prefers to be judged on their comedy alone, it does seem that they are doing positive work in terms of autism awareness. One viewer even noted, “I hope your work helps end the stereotype that people with Aspergers lack a sense of humor.” Hopefully their Netflix debut will help further educate the masses.
